Meet The Cast

Alan Wilson

Alan has been a member of the Whetstone Drama Group since 2008. At the age of 61, he had never acted since his school days. He soon felt confident to take on larger roles and he remembers his first performance in " A murder  has been arranged. " Having played many various roles, he prefers the loud mouth villainous characters. This may be due to the fact he met many of these in real life when he was a police officer. Alan is also a participant in the Murder Mysteries that are regularly performed in the local communities supporting charities.

Amy Christer

Amy joined Whetstone when she was just 5 years old! Her “apprenticeship” with the group encouraged her to study Drama at university. This is where she met her husband Bob, who moved to Leicester and inevitably also joined the group. Amy is the Heritage Support Coordinator at The Y Theatre in Leicester and is also the Artistic Director of the UK version of 14/48: the world's quickest theatre festival. Amy returned to Whetstone Drama to perform in the production of ‘ Steel Magnolias ’, and has performed in ‘ Carries War ’ and most recently in ‘ The Blitz Club ’.

Amy and her husband Bob enjoy spending time with there little ones Elise and Wilf.
